Solo Stove Team’s Fall Traditions (and a Playlist!)

By Solo Stove Team

Looking for the Thanksgiving Foods post? Sorry about that. Read it here!

There’s something about autumn that fills the air with traces of nostalgia and urges us to seek comforting pursuits. We’re sharing the activities that our team goes back to year after year—our favorite fall traditions. And since music is the ultimate memory maker, we’re providing a playlist full of songs that evoke fall feelings.

Our Fall Traditions

“Fall is my favorite season of the year. I love it when the weather cools down, and football season gets into full swing. Thanksgiving in particular is my favorite day of the year. It’s a day to celebrate the best of what life has to offer: family, food, and relaxation.” – Joe B., Website and Marketplace Product Associate

“When I was younger, my neighborhood used to have an annual chili cook off that each house in the (very small) neighborhood would participate in. We usually did this in October, and it was really fun for the whole neighborhood to come together! Since I’ve moved away, I’ve tried to keep making chili as my own fall tradition and look forward to it every year!” – Carolyn O., Social Media Marketing Specialist

“Evening walks and wearing sweaters!!!” – Ryan P., Customer Relations Specialist

“Halloween is my fiancé’s favorite holiday, so every year we watch all 11 of the ‘Halloween’ movies, carve pumpkins, and he dresses up in the same costume every year (Michael Myers) and scares all of the trick-or-treaters.” – Tawny H., Sales Operations Specialist

“Every fall, my wife and I take our kids to the pumpkin patch where they get to pick out their ‘perfect’ pumpkin. We take the pumpkins back home, cut open the tops, and everyone cleans out their pumpkin to prepare it for carving. The kids then (with a little help from mom and dad) carve their selected design. It’s been a great tradition because it works for our littles all the way up to our now older children. All of the kids have a great time and we get to spend hours together making memories.” – John M., CEO

“Fall = football season! My favorite fall tradition is having people over to our apartment to watch football games (college or pro). It’s fun to spend time with friends where we set the TV in the garage, cook out, play cornhole, and listen to Texas country music.” – Kennedi M., HR Manager

“Usually it’s ‘Stranger Things,’ but Netflix messed that up 😉 We love making hot chocolate and using our indoor fireplace—however our current home doesn’t have a fireplace, so we grab a blanket and use our Bonfire.” – Chris J., Creative Content Coordinator

“Visiting a State Park to see the landscapes transition into the winter season.” – Alex M., Industrial Designer

“My family’s fall tradition is going to the ‘Bayou Classic’ celebration in New Orleans, Louisiana, where Grambling State University and Southern University fight for the Southern Conference Title every year in November.” – Wanda M., Customer Relations Supervisor

“Pumpkin carving is my favorite tradition during the fall. Backyard cookouts and football on Sundays is another favorite. I’m a big sweat-er, so when the weather cools a bit I’m able to run outside a lot easier as well. ” – Joseph G., Vice President of B2B Sales

“My favorite part of fall is football season and tailgating. I enjoy being outside with my wife and friends having a good time. I always volunteer to be the grill master because I just loving grilling.” – Connor H., Warehouse Associate

“Corny couples Halloween.” – Sarah N., Customer Relations Specialist

“Dinner in a pumpkin, pumpkin patch with a corn maze, hot dogs and s’mores over our Solo Stove Bonfire!” – Clint M., Chief Financial Officer

“I’m not sure how it started, but every year at Thanksgiving, my husband and I watch every. single. ‘Harry Potter’ film. For me, those movies will forever be synonymous with leftover pumpkin pie.” – Jenny G., Copywriter
