2020 in Review with Our CEO John Merris

Dear Solo Stove Community,

Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your effort to get outside and make great memories. 10 years ago, our founders were just looking for a way to do what they love. Today, Solo Stove fans gather around a fire to enjoy good moments all over the world. We are so grateful for how far you have brought us and even more for the journey that awaits us.

2020 had a lot of ups and a lot of downs. On a high note, the pandemic led thousands of new customers to Solo Stove who were looking for ways to safely connect with family and friends. Our growth accelerated past our expectations, which was amazing! But the downside of that growth was exposed as we dealt with inventory shortages and then later supply chain challenges. We struggled to get answers from vendors, including our shipping and freight carriers, which made it difficult for us to accurately communicate to many of our customers. We feel terribly that we let so many of you down and we have made changes internally so that in the future we will communicate earlier and more frequently when we can’t fulfill our promises.

Early in 2020 we launched a new slogan we felt represented our brand and mission well: Create good moments that lead to lasting memories. It was inspired by many of you that have shared amazing photos, videos and stories of good moments enjoying a great fire, often with family and friends. Solo Stove is in no way perfect, but the idea of “Create Good” is what drives us every day. We want to do good, design good, inspire good and be good. And we want to deliver good to you. Not just in our products, but in our packaging, our marketing and especially in our customer service.

In 2021, we are doubling down our commitment to doing good for you by building up our customer service team, implementing better processes for you to get issues resolved faster and overall making your experience with Solo Stove better than any other brand. We don’t take your support for granted and we are so excited to show you what we have in store for 2021. Keep an eye out for Station 2.0 (our version of a storage system for your fire pit, accessories and wood), Handles to more easily move your Solo Stove, and a couple of big surprises we’ll share with you later.

Speaking of sharing, we’re honoring the good memories made in 2020 by giving away a Solo Grill! We want to see all the good moments you created around a Solo Stove in 2020. Post your photo on Instagram and tag it with #solostove2020. The picture with the most likes on January 4, 2021 wins a Solo Stove Ultimate Grill Bundle! We’ve kicked things off with a few of our favorites here: https://contest.solostove.com/2020-year-in-review/.

Sincerely,

John Merris
